If you would like to know the contents of a German or French text without resorting to a translation, a professional summary might be just the thing to understand the key points. As an experienced language service provider, I offer professional summaries in English, containing not just an abstract (the key points in two or three sentences) plus a more detailed précis according to chapters or paragraphs, but also a list of the text’s keywords and their translations in English.

The scope and detail of the summary will be tailored to your individual needs In any case, summaries can be provided much faster and more cost-efficiently than complete translations. Summary services are settled on an hourly basis. The minimum service fee is EUR 29.75 (GBP 26.14 / USD 40.44) (incl. German VAT, if applicable). I would be pleased to prepare a cost-free and transparent fixed-price quote taking account of your needs.

After reading the summary, you may conclude that a translation would be worthwhile after all.

You will receive a 15 percent discount on the translation price (excl. VAT, if applicable) for all texts included in prior summary services. This offer is possible because the previous work on the text permits time savings during the translation (e.g. regarding terminology research), which can be passed on to you. For all my translation services, I will also prepare a cost-free fixed-price quote, which moreover I can submit together with my quote for a summary if requested.
